Members of the General Assembly of the Uganda Olympic Committee recently re-elected the incumbent, William Frederick Blick, for a four-year term of office. The election took place on 28 February 2017, during an ordinary session of the body. William Frederick Blick was first elected in 2013, taking over from Roger Hans Ddungu who himself had been elected four years prior to that.
Donald Rukare was also elected Secretary-General.
The Uganda Olympic Committee has a huge task ahead during this Olympiad, especially in preparing athletes fully for the forthcoming Olympic Games billed for Tokyo in 2020.
A sports administration course was organised for coaches in Bangui, Central African Republic, from 25 to 29 September 2017. The training focused on good governance principles in sports organisations, ethical values and principles
The Ghana Volleyball Federation, in partnership with the Ghana Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity has, since 13 September, been organising a capacity building training course for 33 coaches of the country in Accra.
