The President of the Italian Fencing Federation, Giorgio Scarso, who doubles as Vice President of the country’s National Olympic Committee, was in Cape Verde recently for a working visit. During his stay, he met with officials of the national sports Movement as a whole, and especially with the NOC President, Filomena Fortes. In the latter case, both officials discussed cooperation between their institutions and defined the broad outlines of such a partnership. Giorgio Scarso was also received in audience by the highest authority of the country, the President of the Republic Jorge Carlos Fonseca.
Another major feature of that visit was the donation of a considerable stock of sports materials to local officials. This is of course intended to foster sports practice among the youths of Cape Verde.
A sports administration course was organised for coaches in Bangui, Central African Republic, from 25 to 29 September 2017. The training focused on good governance principles in sports organisations, ethical values and principles
The Ghana Volleyball Federation, in partnership with the Ghana Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity has, since 13 September, been organising a capacity building training course for 33 coaches of the country in Accra.
