The Association of French-speaking National Olympic Committees (AFCNO) on 22 July 2017 held its annual ordinary General Assembly in Abidjan, on the side lines of the Francophonie Games. The meeting also admitted two new French-speaking sports associations as AFCNO associated organisations, namely the Association Francophone Wrestling Federations and the International Francophone Confederation for disabled sport and culture.
The International Olympic Committee recently awarded its “Women and Sport” Trophy for Africa to Lide Anne Ouoba Zoma (Burkina Faso), for her contribution to sport development in her country, especially sports practice by girls.
Senegal hosted a regional workshop on 25 October 2017 on how to protect integrity in sport and address the new form of criminality involving the manipulation of competitions and other threats to integrity in sport.
