The Ghana Volleyball Federation, in partnership with the Ghana Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity has, since 13 September, been organising a capacity building training course for 33 coaches of the country in Accra. The training will go on up to 6 December 2017, at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Complex, with Mostafa Ahchouche, member of the International Volleyball Federation as instructor. The latter presented a paper on the topic “Development of a national sports system” before a panel of dignitaries, including federation members. He equally encouraged coaches to help build much confidence in their players, and requested them not to concentrate so much on their individual errors since this may end creating contradictory feelings in their minds. Such an attitude will spur them not to commit other errors and to try at the same time to put into practice the coach’s tactics,” the FIVB instructor told them.
Mostafa Ahchouche also requested that attention be paid to the defence during a match, since defending is an important part of the volleyball system. He encouraged a triple block defence system. He also analysed several video clips with trainees, in which volleyball teams the defensive approach systems during tournaments, notably at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
